Parents

Between being a mom and a shopping editor, I’ve spent hours upon hours researching the best car seats, not only for my own child, but for other families as well. There are so many types of car seats—rotating, convertible, boosters, and more—and the one you need will depend on where your child is at in life. Whether you need one before delivery or your kids have outgrown their forward-facing seat, there’s one brand I will always turn to: Graco. I’ve used three Graco car seats since my son was born more than five years ago, and they’re all discounted during the Amazon Big Spring Sale.

My son has ridden in the impressive, 180-degree-rotating Graco Turn2Me and the space-saving Graco SlimFit for years. Recently, he started riding in the lightweight Graco TurboBooster 2.0 Highback. Right now, these three Graco car seats are up to 25% off.

I've used the Graco Turn2Me rotating car seat for over two years, but I wish it had been available when my son was a newborn. It rotates 180 degrees to the left and right, making getting kids in and out of a vehicle incredibly easy. I started testing the seat when my son was a toddler, so we still got to use the rotating feature for a while (it only rotates in rear-facing mode), and I can’t express how much I love that feature. Even my son had a blast turning to the side, letting out an occasional “Wheee!” when getting in and out of the car.

While my son is now forward-facing, I still love this seat despite not using the rotating feature. It feels super sturdy and the material is impressively plush; I have no worries about my son’s comfort when we’re in the car for hours. It features two cup holders, an adjustable headrest, a no-rethread five-point harness, and, my second-favorite feature, strap holders on both sides of the seat (no more digging for straps and buckles!). Oh, and I can officially install this Graco car seat in less than a minute, using the special seatbelt locking mechanism in rear-facing mode and the tether and seat belt in forward-facing mode.

Two downsides of this seat are that the rotating feature ends once your kid faces forward and the seat is heavy. Still, you can score over $50 off this rotating car seat right now.

When my son was born, my husband and I had smaller cars, so we knew we would need a slim car seat to save as much space as possible. We landed on the Graco SlimFit 3-in-1, which really is narrow compared to the Turn2Me. It still has so many of the same great features you’d expect in a Graco car seat, including three modes of use, two cup holders, a four-position recline, a no-rethread harness system, and more. Kids can use this car seat from birth, as long as they’re 5 pounds, up to when they're 100 pounds, meaning kids could ride in this seat their entire childhood.

My biggest complaint about the SlimFit is the size of the seat belt threading space. I like to think I have average-sized hands, but I have to really squeeze them through the back to pull the seat belt through. Once I get the seat belt to the other side, I have zero issues, so would I still buy this seat again? Yes, 100%.

The Graco TurboBooster 2.0 Highback Booster is one of the latest car seats I’m testing, but I can already tell you I’ll use it well past the official testing period. At just under 10 pounds, it’s the lightest car seat I’ve ever used (I actually pretended to lift it like dumbbells because it’s so lightweight).

It converts from a high-back booster to a backless booster. In high-back mode, you install it via the latch system and kids use the vehicle’s seat belt instead of a harness. For backless mode, you remove the back and place the seat on the vehicle seat—no installation required. Kids simply use the seat belt in backless mode, the last step they’ll reach before graduating from car seats altogether.

While I’ve been using this car seat for about a month, I’d absolutely buy it, especially since it’s currently under $50 on Amazon.
